Google is making video editing within Workspace more seamless with a new shortcut in Drive. When previewing a video, users will now see an ‘Open’ button that directly launches the editing tools within Google Vids. This streamlines workflows by offering quick access to essential video editing features, including trimming, text overlays, and music integration. While enabled by default for all users, administrators retain the option to disable the feature company-wide. This update builds upon recent enhancements to video functionality in Drive, such as a redesigned video player and the integration of Gemini AI for automatic video summarization, further emphasizing Google’s focus on simplifying video management within its ecosystem.
