Google has announced the Pixel Watch 4, the latest iteration in its smartwatch lineup, boasting a redesigned display, improved performance, and a commitment to repairability. Starting at $349, the Pixel Watch 4 features a new domed “Actua 360” display, promising double the brightness of its predecessor with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.
Notably, Google has implemented a side-mounted charger that transforms the watch into a mini-display, showing key information such as battery percentage and alarm details. Both the display and the battery are now designed for easy replacement and repair. Powering the device is the Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 chip, unlocking more on-device AI capabilities, including smart replies. Gemini now takes the place of Google Assistant.
Additional features include a Satellite SOS mode for emergency situations and several health and fitness enhancements. Among these are retroactive AI activity recognition and the AI Health Coach, offering personalized fitness guidance.
