Gaming enthusiasts, prepare yourselves! Microsoft and ASUS are jointly launching their highly anticipated Xbox Ally handhelds, the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X, on October 16th across global markets. While specific pricing details and preorder options remain under wraps for now, stay tuned for announcements in the coming weeks. To ensure optimal gaming experiences, Microsoft is also rolling out a handheld compatibility program, highlighting titles specifically tailored for these devices. Leaks suggest the Xbox Ally will be priced around €599 (approximately $699), with the higher-end Xbox Ally X model potentially retailing for €899 (roughly $1,049). Both handhelds will boast vibrant 7-inch 1080p displays with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Internally, the Xbox Ally will be powered by AMD’s Ryzen Z2 A chip, while the Xbox Ally X will feature a more powerful AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor. Further enhancing the Windows gaming experience, Microsoft is developing an “advanced shader delivery” feature and plans to introduce Auto SR in 2026, an AI-powered upscaling technology utilizing an NPU to boost game visuals. This Auto SR feature will also leverage AI to automatically capture memorable gameplay moments for easy sharing. Expect the devices to boot directly into a full-screen Xbox interface, providing a seamless and immersive gaming experience.
