GPD is generating buzz with its latest handheld gaming device, the GPD Win 5. While packing significant processing power courtesy of the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 chip and integrated AMD graphics, this 7-inch device necessitates either a 180W charger or an 80Wh external battery pack, sold as a separate ‘backpack,’ to fully unleash its potential. Gamers can expect a smooth visual experience thanks to a 120Hz variable refresh rate screen, coupled with up to 128GB of unified memory. Connectivity is also well-covered with USB-4 supporting 100W Power Delivery. To combat the heat generated by the high-performance components, GPD has incorporated an advanced cooling system featuring dual fans and four heat pipes. An optional HDMI and USB dock will further expand the device’s capabilities. The GPD Win 5 is slated for its official unveiling at Chinajoy 2025.
