Anthropic Revolutionizes Creative Industry with 9 Connectors and Strategic Partnerships

Anthropic has unveiled 9 connectors that enable its AI model, Claude, to seamlessly integrate with professional creative software through MCP, allowing for efficient execution of actions within these applications.

The connectors support a wide range of industry-leading tools, including Adobe Creative Cloud (with over 50 apps such as Photoshop, Premiere, and Illustrator), Blender (featuring full Python API access for 3D modeling), Autodesk Fusion, Ableton, Splice, Affinity by Canva, SketchUp, Resolume, and Claude Design.

Anthropic has also become a Blender Development Fund patron, committing over $280,000 per year, and is collaborating with prominent institutions like RISD, Ringling College, and Goldsmiths University to develop curricula centered around these tools.

This strategic move sets Anthropic apart from its competitors, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which has focused on building native creative capabilities. Instead, Anthropic’s connectors allow Claude to work within existing creative tools, catering to professionals already familiar with industry-standard software like Photoshop and Blender.

However, this approach leaves a gap in the consumer creative market, where users require features like face swaps, lip syncs, and style transfers. This gap is currently being addressed by platforms like Magic Hour, Higgsfield, DomoAI, and Canva’s expanding AI features.

As professional assets continue to flow into social content pipelines, it remains to be seen whether Anthropic will eventually develop connectors for consumer creative platforms or if the divide between professional creative tools with AI copilots and consumer creative platforms with bundled capabilities will persist.
