Xiaomi has unveiled its new Leica Leitzphone, featuring innovative camera hardware, including continuous zoom and a LOFIC sensor.

At the recent launch of the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra in Europe, the company took a different approach to its competitors, focusing less on AI and more on the capabilities of its camera hardware.

According to Angus Ng, Xiaomi’s director of communications and public relations, this approach is intentional, with the company currently focused on pushing the limits of camera hardware.

This sets Xiaomi apart from other industry leaders, such as Google and Samsung, who have recently emphasized the role of AI in their camera systems.
