A recent report from cybersecurity firm CyXcel highlights a significant gap in AI risk management among UK businesses. The study reveals that a substantial portion of UK companies are ill-equipped to handle the potential dangers posed by artificial intelligence. Alarmingly, 29% of surveyed businesses have only just begun to implement their initial AI risk strategy, while a concerning 31% operate without any established AI governance policies whatsoever. This lack of robust oversight exposes these organizations to a range of threats, including data breaches, operational interruptions, and potential regulatory penalties. Specifically, the study indicates that 18% of UK and US organizations are unprepared for AI data poisoning attacks, and 16% lack adequate policies to address the growing threat of cloning and deepfake incidents. To address these vulnerabilities, CyXcel offers its Digital Risk Management (DRM) platform, designed to provide businesses with comprehensive AI risk mitigation solutions, integrating expertise across cyber security, legal compliance, technical infrastructure, and strategic planning. The DRM platform aims to cover the risks of AI, cyber, supply chain, geopolitics, regulation, and technology.
