Facing pressure from rising food costs, particularly for produce, Uber Eats is introducing several new features aimed at helping consumers save money and ensuring freshness. The “Fresh Days” program offers discounts of up to 50% on fruits, vegetables, meats, and dairy in select markets across the US, Canada, the UK, South Africa, France, Japan, Taiwan, and Spain. Uber One members will benefit from even deeper discounts, including a 30% discount on fresh produce, meats, dairy, and eggs every Tuesday.

To address common frustrations with online grocery shopping, Uber Eats is also launching an AI-powered tool that suggests replacements for out-of-stock items. This intelligent feature aims to streamline the shopping process and ensure customers get the items they need. Delivery couriers will also be able to share photos with customers, providing real-time updates on item availability and quality.

Reinforcing its commitment to quality, Uber Eats is introducing a “freshness guarantee.” This guarantee promises replacements for any items that arrive spoiled, damaged, or stale. This move aims to give consumers added confidence when ordering fresh food through the platform. With farmers and producers facing increased expenses, Uber’s new initiatives aim to mitigate the impact of rising food prices on consumers.
