In a stunning turn of events, Spotify has announced that its lead developers have been freed from writing code since December, courtesy of the company’s successful integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into its development workflow.

The popular music streaming platform attributes this significant shift to the combined efforts of Claude Code and its in-house AI system, Honk, which have dramatically accelerated development speeds, enabling human developers to concentrate on more complex and strategic tasks.
