Google isn’t mincing words in its latest Pixel ad, directly targeting Apple’s delayed and much-anticipated “Apple Intelligence” features. The 30-second spot subtly mocks the fact that Apple users have been promised an AI-powered Siri upgrade for a year, with no concrete release date in sight. The ad cheekily suggests that those who bought a new phone specifically for this elusive feature might want to “change your phone.” The ad strategically precedes the August 20th launch of Google’s new Pixel 10 smartphones. This jab comes after Apple’s SVP of Software Engineering, Craig Federighi, explained that the delay stems from complexities in implementing a hybrid architecture for Siri. Apple is reportedly working on a revamped version with a completely updated architecture, promising a “much bigger upgrade than we envisioned.”
