This project is intended to showcase AI’s potential to deliver high-quality productions at significantly reduced costs. Slated for a 2026 Cannes Film Festival premiere and global theatrical release, ‘Critterz’ boasts a production budget of under $30 million and a remarkably short nine-month development cycle – a fraction of the time and expense associated with traditional animation. In collaboration with Native Foreign and Vertigo Films, OpenAI aims for ‘Critterz’ to catalyze AI adoption within Hollywood, addressing prevalent concerns surrounding talent integration, intellectual property rights, and general acceptance of the technology.
