This acquisition signals OpenAI’s intent to develop specialized hardware tailored for artificial intelligence applications. While io Products is now part of OpenAI, Jony Ive and his design firm, LoveFrom, will remain independent entities. However, they will take on significant design and creative oversight roles across various OpenAI projects, ensuring a strong design focus as OpenAI pushes forward in the AI space.
