Google’s AI notetaking tool, NotebookLM, is leveling up collaboration by allowing users to publicly share their notebooks. This new feature allows for easy sharing among colleagues, students, or anyone working on a common project. Shared notebooks are interactive, allowing viewers to ask questions and access AI-generated content, including convenient audio overviews and FAQs. Since its initial launch in 2023, NotebookLM has distinguished itself by its powerful ability to analyze and synthesize information from diverse sources like notes, documents, presentations, and even YouTube videos. The application provides AI summaries, facilitates podcast-style discussions on the material, and offers a chat function. Following last month’s launch of a mobile version, sharing a notebook is now as seamless as sharing files on Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides. Users maintain control over permissions and can grant individual editors access. Audio overviews can be directly shared from within the Gemini app, further expanding its usability and reach.
