Google has announced price increases for its Nest Aware and Nest Aware Plus subscription services, attributing the changes to the ongoing costs of developing and maintaining its advanced, AI-driven features. Effective August 2025, Nest Aware will cost $10 per month or $100 annually, while Nest Aware Plus will jump to $20 monthly or $200 per year. Google stated the price changes will be applied “on your first bill that occurs on or after August 15, 2025, or at the end of your promotional period (whichever is later).” This marks the second price adjustment in recent years, following an increase in September 2023. Google maintains that the revised pricing remains competitive within the smart home security market, comparing them to offerings from rivals like Ring and Arlo. Both tiers of Nest Aware offer features like Familiar Faces and intelligent sound detection. The company is also currently testing a cutting-edge Gemini-powered camera intelligence system exclusively for Nest Aware Plus subscribers, further showcasing its investment in AI-powered enhancements.
