Mythos AI, a US-based maritime tech innovator, is expanding its Advanced Pilot Assistance System (APAS) to commercial shipping. Following a successful initial deployment on a Mississippi River towboat in August 2025, APAS is now being trialed on the CB Pacific, a chemical cargo vessel owned by CB Tankers.

APAS leverages a radar-centric system integrated with other sensors to enhance maritime navigation. The system is engineered to aid human mariners by reducing mental strain and boosting situational awareness, all while prioritizing human decision-making in navigation. This year-long experiment aims to evaluate the potential of next-generation bridge intelligence in real-world commercial shipping operations.
