Microsoft is consolidating its AI offerings and productivity suite into a new Microsoft 365 Premium subscription, directly challenging OpenAI’s ChatGPT Plus. For $19.99 per month, subscribers gain access to AI-powered features within Office applications, increased usage allowances for AI tools including GPT-4o’s image generation and voice capabilities, and exclusive functionalities like Copilot Podcasts and Deep Research. The subscription extends to six users and includes 1TB of storage per person, along with access to the desktop versions of Office applications. This new package allows consumers to leverage Microsoft’s AI features within their Office apps, extending the functionality to their work environment, further solidifying Microsoft’s push towards AI-integrated productivity.
