The suit alleges that Joy Timeline has been actively advertising these CrushAI applications, which operate on platforms like Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and Threads, despite repeated efforts by Meta to block their advertisements. The company claims that Joy Timeline attempted to bypass Meta’s ad review processes after a CBS News investigation brought the concerning apps to light. Meta asserts that the apps directly violate its policies and could facilitate blackmail and ‘sextortion’ schemes, emphasizing the potential harm to its users.
