A major breakthrough in smart energy management has been announced with the partnership between Matter, the smart-home interoperability standard, and OpenADR, a protocol facilitating communication between the grid and homes.

This strategic collaboration seeks to streamline the integration of connected appliances into demand response programs, potentially resulting in significant cost savings for consumers. By participating in demand response programs, customers can reduce or shift their energy consumption in exchange for utility bill credits or other incentives.

The Connectivity Standards Alliance, the driving force behind Matter, has partnered with the nonprofit OpenADR Alliance to make smart energy management more accessible, efficient, and user-friendly, paving the way for a more sustainable future.
