Computer vision researchers now have a new resource at their disposal: Kanops, an open-access dataset containing approximately 10,800 images of diverse retail environments. The dataset captures real-world store scenes, including shelves, displays, and signage across various retailers and seasons, and includes a Halloween 2024 collection. The images feature blurred faces and come with associated metadata. Kanops is currently available for evaluation purposes under a specific license via Hugging Face. Commercial use requires a separate license. A Reddit post indicates that a future version of the dataset will include labeled data, enhancing its utility for AI model training.
