Grammarly is now offering its AI-powered grammar and writing assistance in Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, and Italian, significantly expanding its language support. This expansion addresses widespread user requests and utilizes sophisticated AI algorithms to analyze and refine grammar, aiming for clarity and a native-speaker-like tone.
In addition to grammar and spelling checks, Grammarly facilitates translation between its six core languages (including English) and 19 others. This update positions Grammarly as a strong competitor in the rapidly growing market of AI-driven language tools.
Grammarly emphasizes its evolution into an AI productivity application, highlighting its long-standing foundation in machine learning. The integration of large language models (LLMs) in 2023, refined by analytical linguists, enables advanced suggestions and paragraph rewrites. Users can also opt to integrate external LLMs from providers such as OpenAI for even more sophisticated capabilities.
While Grammarly utilizes user data to train its AI models, it offers opt-out options, particularly for enterprise and education clients, ensuring data privacy. The company is actively exploring the addition of further languages, with a focus on those commonly used by customer support service providers.
