Google is democratizing advanced image creation with the launch of Nano Banana Pro (built on the Gemini 3 Pro platform), a free AI model offering powerful image generation and editing capabilities. Accessible globally through the Gemini app using the “Create image” and “Thinking” model options, Nano Banana Pro enables users to produce studio-quality visuals without cost.
This innovative tool allows the seamless blending of up to 14 images into a single, cohesive output, and boasts impressive text rendering directly onto images, unlocking potential for generating posters, invitations, and other design-focused content. Beyond basic generation, Nano Banana Pro provides users with granular creative control, including the ability to selectively edit portions of an image, manipulate camera angles, introduce bokeh effects, and refine lighting. It supports resolutions up to 4K across multiple aspect ratios.
Addressing concerns about AI-generated content, Google embeds C2PA metadata into all images created or edited with Nano Banana Pro, facilitating easier detection of generative AI or deepfakes. While free users will have a usage quota, Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers will benefit from expanded access. Furthermore, Nano Banana Pro powers AI Mode in Search within the US and is accessible worldwide to users of the NotebookLM research assistant.
