Google has significantly upgraded its Flow AI filmmaking tool, bringing new levels of control and realism to AI-generated video. The latest enhancements, part of the Veo 3.1 update, empower users to fine-tune their creations with precise adjustments to lighting and shadows, blurring the lines between artificial and real footage. Veo 3.1 leverages submitted images to improve video generation quality. Furthermore, Flow now boasts expanded audio capabilities, introducing features like ‘Ingredients to Video’ (generating a video with sound based on three reference images), ‘Frames to Video’ (seamlessly connecting start and end images with accompanying audio), and ‘Scene Extension’ (adding up to a full minute of AI-generated video and audio to an existing clip). Accessible via the Gemini API for developers and within the Gemini app, Veo 3.1 is also slated to gain object removal functionality, intelligently reconstructing backgrounds to seamlessly erase unwanted elements.
