Google is rolling out a more personalized virtual try-on experience, empowering users to visualize clothing on their own bodies before making a purchase. Currently in testing within Search Labs in the US, the enhanced feature allows users to upload a personal photo to see how specific garments will appear on them. By clicking the “try it on” button next to apparel items in Google search results, users can upload a full-body image, which is then processed by Google’s advanced AI. This AI model is designed to understand human anatomy and the way different fabrics drape and conform to the body. Beyond the improved try-on functionality, Google is also exploring AI-powered shopping features, including an “agentic” checkout system that uses Google Pay to autonomously purchase items when prices drop to a user-specified threshold. Users will receive notifications when their desired price is met, and Google can automatically complete the checkout process on their behalf, streamlining the online shopping experience.
