Google Docs is rolling out a new AI-powered “Read Aloud” feature, leveraging the power of Gemini to transform documents into customizable audio experiences. Users can now listen to their documents on the go, enhancing accessibility and convenience. The feature, accessible through the ‘Tools’ menu, allows for voice and playback speed adjustments, enabling a personalized listening experience. Document creators can also embed a customizable audio button directly within their documents for easy access. Currently, the Read Aloud functionality is available in English on desktop for Google Workspace subscribers with Business, Enterprise, or Education plans, as well as those with AI Pro and Ultra subscriptions.
