Chromebook Plus laptops are about to get a significant upgrade with integrated Gemini AI features, enriching the user experience with intelligent assistance. Google’s initiative brings AI-powered capabilities like ‘select to search,’ allowing users to seamlessly conduct Google searches directly from on-screen content, whether text or images. This feature streamlines workflows by enabling the import of captured text into applications like Google Calendar and Workspace. Beyond search enhancements, users can expect simplified on-screen text readability, AI-driven image generation accessible via the Quick Insert key, and intelligent tab grouping for improved organization. The Gallery app will also benefit from AI, gaining image editing tools such as background removal and sticker creation. Lenovo’s new 14-inch Chromebook Plus (10th-gen), starting at $649 and powered by a MediaTek Kompanio Ultra chip, will be among the first to offer these features. Notably, purchasers will receive a complimentary one-year subscription to Google’s AI Pro Plan, which includes access to Gemini 2.5 Pro and the Veo 3 AI video generator, further amplifying the value proposition.
