Federal indictments have been unsealed against four individuals accused of conspiring to illegally export supercomputers and high-performance Nvidia chips to China. The defendants allegedly violated export controls by circumventing regulations designed to prevent sensitive technology from falling into the hands of foreign adversaries. Adding a layer of intrigue, prosecutors allege that the father of one of the defendants has a history of similar illicit activity linked to the Chinese Communist Party.
