Meta is launching a new AI-powered feature designed to help users in the US and Canada make their photos and videos more appealing for sharing. This opt-in feature analyzes photos and videos stored on a user’s device that haven’t been posted to Facebook.
By granting permission, users allow Meta’s AI to scan their camera roll, uploading unshared content to Meta’s cloud servers to identify potentially “shareworthy” moments. The AI then generates suggestions for edits and collages, giving users the option to save or directly post these enhancements. Meta assures users that data uploaded from the camera roll will not be utilized to improve Meta’s AI unless users either edit the suggestions with the AI tools or publish those suggestions to Facebook.
The feature is designed to provide support for users who enjoy photography but desire assistance in refining their images or simply lack the time to create polished content.
