DJI, the world’s leading drone manufacturer, has confirmed the discontinuation of its Phantom drone series, marking the end of an era for the iconic quadcopter. Models like the Phantom 4 Pro and Phantom 4 Advanced will no longer be supported after June 1st, 2025. Production of the Phantom line initially ceased in May 2018. Launched in 2013, the Phantom quickly became synonymous with accessible drone technology, playing a pivotal role in DJI’s rise to dominance. Its user-friendly design and relatively affordable price point made it a hit with both hobbyists and professionals, and its aesthetic was widely copied. The company is now concentrating on its more compact and feature-rich Mavic, Air, Mini, and Inspire series. Recent leaks suggest that DJI is preparing to launch new Mavic 4 Pro and Mini 5 models, indicating a continued emphasis on portable, high-performance drone solutions. We have contacted DJI for an official statement regarding this strategic shift.
