China Mobile Shanghai & Huawei Unveil 5G-Advanced Monetization Plan Targeting Football Fans

China Mobile Shanghai and Huawei have partnered to launch an innovative 5G-Advanced (5G-A) network monetization strategy, demonstrating a practical application of enhanced network features to generate revenue. The launch was showcased at a Shanghai Shenhua football game.

The initiative, branded as the ‘5G-A Exclusive Package for Shenhua Football Fans,’ offers subscribers prioritized network access, high-definition streaming of matches, and exclusive merchandise. This package is powered by Huawei’s GainLeap solution and AI-driven intelligent wireless boards, which work together to optimize network performance and deliver differentiated services to premium users.

At the live demonstration, subscribers to the 5G-A package enjoyed download speeds reaching 600 Mbps, highlighting the significant performance improvements offered by the advanced network. China Mobile Shanghai aims to attract 200,000 Shenhua fans to this package, using it as a key performance indicator (KPI) to evaluate the commercial potential of 5G-A monetization strategies.
