OpenAI’s ChatGPT Atlas browser is sporting a fresh look with a new update, introducing vertical tabs reminiscent of the Arc browser’s interface. Users can now navigate through tabs organized in a resizable and reorderable left-hand sidebar. While it doesn’t boast all the bells and whistles of Arc’s sidebar, the update aims to provide a more efficient and organized browsing experience. Beyond the tab makeover, the update brings the convenience of setting Google as the default search engine. Additional enhancements include the ability to select and drag multiple tabs simultaneously, streamlined extension imports from other browsers, a redesigned downloads interface, and support for iCloud Keychain passkeys. Launched on macOS just last month, ChatGPT Atlas positions itself alongside other AI-powered browsing solutions, allowing users to either directly input URLs or leverage ChatGPT to answer queries. A comprehensive list of all the changes is available on OpenAI’s website.
