Canva has introduced a groundbreaking new feature that transforms flat image files and AI-generated visuals into layered, fully editable designs. The Magic Layers tool, now available in public beta in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia, enables users to select and edit individual design components, such as objects, text boxes, and graphics, while preserving the original layout.
According to Canva’s chief product officer, Cameron Adams, the Magic Layers tool is the result of a significant breakthrough by the company’s AI research team. This innovative feature allows users to take a flat image and turn it into a fully editable design within Canva, eliminating the need to start from scratch or decipher complex design elements.
