A novel AI agent is making waves for its unique, client-side approach. Dubbed a ‘familiar,’ this browser-based AI lives entirely within your browser, learning and evolving based on your interactions. Integrated into an interactive narrative called Bios of Being, the AI stores its knowledge and history directly in the browser’s IndexedDB, allowing for personalized growth. The system employs Q-learning, a task queue, and a rudimentary emotional model to guide its research. During ‘dream’ states, a genetic algorithm helps the AI formulate new hypotheses. To further enhance its learning capabilities, a meta-learning layer called Paramorphic Learning is implemented. Unlike many AI solutions, this ‘familiar’ is not a Large Language Model (LLM) and operates entirely without server-side processing, offering a completely private and localized AI experience.
