Autodesk, a prominent 3D design software provider, has initiated a lawsuit against Google in a California court, citing trademark infringement concerns regarding Google’s AI video generator, also named ‘Flow’.
The lawsuit asserts that the naming of Google’s Flow tool, released in May, may cause customer confusion with Autodesk’s own AI-driven filmmaking solutions, which have been available under the Flow brand since 2022.
Autodesk’s Flow platform is a cloud-based service tailored for filmmakers and creators, featuring products like Flow Studio. This tool leverages AI to convert live-action footage into 3D scenes, showcasing the potential of AI in video production.
This lawsuit marks the latest development in the ongoing intellectual property dispute between the two tech companies, with Autodesk aiming to safeguard its brand identity and prevent potential customer confusion.
