Black Friday is bringing augmented reality (AR) glasses into reach for a wider audience, with significant discounts on devices like the Xreal One and Viture Luma Pro. These glasses offer immersive entertainment experiences for gamers and movie lovers seeking an alternative to bulky VR headsets. The Xreal One, now priced at $399.99 at Amazon and Best Buy, resembles everyday eyewear but provides a large, private virtual display when paired with devices like Steam Decks or iPads. Key features include a 120Hz refresh rate, 1080p resolution, and integrated Bose-tuned speakers. A crucial feature for user comfort is the ability to virtually anchor the screen, reducing motion sickness. The Viture Luma Pro glasses, also available at Amazon and Best Buy, offer myopia adjustments and a slightly higher 1200p resolution. However, they differ from the Xreal One in lacking three degrees of freedom, meaning the projected screen moves in conjunction with the user’s head movements.
