Apple’s Smart Home Display Pushed to Fall, Tied to iOS 27 and Advanced Siri Update

A rumored Apple smart home display, often referred to as a ‘HomePod with a screen,’ has faced repeated delays. Initially expected to launch in 2025, then this spring, the latest updates now point to a fall release, coinciding with the anticipated launch of iOS 27.

Recent reports from leaker Kosutami and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggest that the device, internally known as the J490 or HomePad, is awaiting the completion of a significant AI update for Siri, which will introduce a chatbot-style interface.

This AI update was originally slated for an earlier release but is now expected to arrive later this year. Additionally, a variant of the device equipped with a robot arm is planned for launch in 2027, according to Gurman.
