The new ‘Video Recaps’ feature, currently in beta, uses generative AI to analyze previous seasons, identify key plot points, and create concise video summaries. These recaps combine curated video clips, music, dialogue, and AI-generated narration to refresh viewers’ memories before a new season premieres. The feature is currently being tested on select Prime Original series, with a dedicated button on the show’s detail page providing access. While the utility of AI in this context is debated, Amazon hopes to streamline the process of reminding viewers of past storylines.
