Adobe is pushing the boundaries of filmmaking with its latest generative AI advancements in the Firefly app. The headline feature is the ‘Generate Sound Effects’ tool (currently in beta), which allows users to create realistic audio effects simply by recording themselves mimicking the desired sound. Imagine vocalizing a rocket launch – Firefly can transform that onomatopoeia into a convincing soundscape.

Beyond sound, Adobe is also enhancing its Firefly Text-to-Video generator. The new Composition Reference feature allows users to upload a video to influence the composition of AI-generated content, ensuring greater artistic control. Keyframe Cropping offers further precision by allowing users to define the start and end frames of a video sequence, letting Firefly fill in the gaps seamlessly. A range of visual style presets, including anime and claymation, provide instant aesthetic transformations.

These updates underscore Adobe’s strategy to remain a leader in creative software by embracing and integrating cutting-edge AI technologies, including the potential inclusion of competing AI models within its suite.
