AI Dramatically Accelerates IT Issue Resolution, Study Finds

Artificial intelligence is significantly reducing the time it takes IT departments to resolve technical issues, according to a new study. CIOs are increasingly leveraging AI to enhance their operations without needing to expand their teams. A SolarWinds analysis of over 2,000 IT systems revealed that organizations using AI resolve issues in an average of 22.55 hours, compared to 32.46 hours for those without AI. This represents a 30.5% reduction in resolution time, translating to nearly 10 hours saved per issue.

The research highlights that the most successful adopters of AI have integrated it directly into their daily workflows. The report advises IT teams to prioritize embedding AI into day-to-day operations rather than treating it as an isolated project.

The study also emphasizes that AI’s effectiveness is amplified when combined with existing self-service portals and automation tools. This synergy allows IT departments to evolve from reactive problem-solvers into strategic partners contributing directly to the overall success of the business.
