Huawei is pushing the boundaries of automotive audio with its Shanghai Acoustics R&D Centre, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to crafting immersive in-car listening experiences. Moving beyond traditional setups, Huawei leverages advanced testing environments like anechoic and semi-anechoic chambers to scientifically measure and refine sound reproduction. The core of their approach lies in combining precise acoustic measurement with psychoacoustic principles and custom-designed hardware.
The HUAWEI SOUND ULTIMATE Series, featured in the Maextro S800 electric sedan, exemplifies this commitment. Featuring a staggering 43 speakers, dual amplifiers, and seat-specific 4D immersive surround sound, the system incorporates innovations like a Tangential Force Woofer, a dual-diaphragm subwoofer, and a Crystal Star-Ring Diffuser. The system is further enhanced by HarmonyOS integration, enabling AI-powered ambient lighting synchronized with the audio.
A key feature is the implementation of independent sound zones, achieved through headrest-integrated drivers and active noise cancellation, effectively minimizing audio bleed between rows and allowing passengers to personalize their listening environment. Road noise cancellation is also integrated, ensuring a pristine audio experience even in challenging driving conditions. Huawei provides solutions to over twenty automakers. The success of these advanced audio solutions hinges on factors such as scalable production, robust supply chains, and strong consumer demand for high-fidelity in-car entertainment.
