Meta is expanding its smart glasses lineup with a new collaboration with Oakley. The Oakley Meta HSTN, a limited-edition model priced at $499, joins the Meta family of wearable tech, with additional Oakley models incorporating Meta’s technology launching this summer from $399. Building upon the functionality of the Meta Ray-Ban glasses, the Oakley versions boast a front-facing camera capable of 3K video recording, open-ear speakers, and integrated microphones. When connected to a smartphone, users can enjoy music playback, make calls, and interact with Meta AI. The onboard Meta AI can provide information about the user’s environment and even translate languages in real-time. Specifically designed for athletes, these smart glasses feature an IPX4 water resistance rating for protection against sweat and splashes. They offer an impressive 8 hours of battery life on a single charge, which can be further extended to 48 hours with the included charging case. This collaboration is part of a multi-year partnership between Meta and EssilorLuxottica, the eyewear conglomerate that owns both Ray-Ban and Oakley.
