IBM and Roche have teamed up to launch Accu-Chek SmartGuide Predict, an innovative app leveraging artificial intelligence to aid in diabetes management. The app utilizes real-time data streamed from Roche’s continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensors to intelligently forecast blood sugar fluctuations. Its core features include ‘Glucose Predict,’ offering a visual representation of projected glucose levels for the subsequent two hours; ‘Low Glucose Predict,’ proactively identifying potential hypoglycemic episodes up to 30 minutes in advance; and ‘Night Low Predict,’ which assesses the risk of overnight hypoglycemia, allowing for preventative action. Beyond the app, IBM and Roche have also created a research tool built upon IBM’s watsonx AI platform, designed to significantly expedite the analysis of clinical study data related to diabetes. This collaboration brings together IBM’s robust AI capabilities and Roche’s deep understanding of the healthcare sector, aiming to revolutionize diabetes care. The Accu-Chek SmartGuide Predict app is currently available to users in Switzerland.
