TikTok is enhancing its platform for visually impaired users by implementing AI-generated alternative text (alt text) for images. This new feature automatically creates descriptions for images where creators haven’t provided their own, making content more accessible. While the AI provides a baseline description, creators retain the ability to manually add or edit the alt text for greater accuracy and personalization. Alongside AI alt text, TikTok is also introducing a color contrast toggle and automatic bold text display to further improve accessibility for a wider range of users.
