These next-generation glasses are rumored to feature a groundbreaking ‘super-sensing’ vision software powered by AI, enabling real-time facial recognition and the ability to identify people by name.

The feature, activated by a simple voice command (‘Hey Meta, start live AI’), could also provide contextual reminders and offer personalized assistance. This ‘super-sensing’ mode necessitates that cameras and sensors remain constantly active, a factor currently impacting battery life in prototype testing on existing Meta smart glasses.

Meta engineers are focused on optimizing the software to maximize battery efficiency, with the goal of achieving several hours of continuous operation on a single charge for the upcoming Aperol and Bellini models. The company’s ambitious vision positions the glasses as a potentially transformative tool for social interaction and everyday productivity.
