Nvidia has rolled out its fifth hotfix driver in recent months, version 576.26, to address persistent bugs and crashes plaguing its RTX 50-series graphics cards. The repeated hotfix releases underscore continuing instability issues with the company’s latest GPUs.
The new driver is built upon the 576.02 release from earlier in June and incorporates fixes from the 576.15 hotfix. Key improvements include a solution for a recently identified GPU temperature bug. Gamers will also benefit from targeted fixes for flickering in Forza Horizon 5, track corruption in Forza Motorsport, and random crashes encountered in Black Myth: Wukong.
Furthermore, the 576.26 update brings increased stability to titles like Red Dead Redemption 2, Horizon Forbidden West, Dead Island 2, and the Resident Evil 4 Remake. Nvidia is also persisting with efforts to resolve black screen problems affecting LG monitors connected via DisplayPort 2.1, as well as grey screen crashes and display flickering issues when running at high refresh rates in DisplayPort 2.1 mode.
The frequency of these hotfix releases stands in contrast to Nvidia’s previous assertions regarding driver quality, particularly in comparison to rival manufacturers. This series of fixes since the RTX 50-series launch in January indicates a potential change in Nvidia’s driver performance trajectory.
