Adobe is taking a proactive step in the evolving landscape of AI and intellectual property. Expanding its content credentials system, Adobe has unveiled a feature enabling creators to embed metadata within their images specifying whether or not the image should be used for training artificial intelligence models. This ‘Do Not Train’ tag offers artists and photographers increased agency over their creative works, drawing parallels to the robots.txt protocol used to manage web crawler access to websites. By implementing this system, Adobe is empowering creators to explicitly define the permissible uses of their images in the context of AI development.
