Waymo is launching public trials of its Ojai robotaxi in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Phoenix, marking a significant milestone in the development of its autonomous ride-hailing service.

The Ojai, a rebranded Zeekr RT minivan, will offer free rides to select passengers, allowing Waymo to gather valuable data on the passenger experience and refine its service before introducing paid rides.

The introduction of the Ojai robotaxi represents a major upgrade to Waymo’s current fleet, paving the way for a safer and more efficient transportation solution for users.
