The US government has established a partnership with Google DeepMind, Microsoft, and xAI to review their new AI models prior to public release.

The Commerce Department’s Center for AI Standards and Innovation (CAISI) will collaborate with these AI companies to conduct thorough pre-deployment evaluations and targeted research, aiming to better understand the capabilities of cutting-edge AI.

With 40 reviews already completed, including assessments of models from OpenAI and Anthropic starting in 2024, CAISI will continue to work closely with these companies and new partners to ensure alignment with US government priorities.
