OpenAI is accelerating the development of its inaugural hardware product, a smartphone specifically designed to seamlessly integrate with ChatGPT, marking a significant foray into the tech industry’s hardware sector.

Noted supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reveals that the phone will be powered by a tailored version of the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 chip, slated for release later this year.

This customized chip boasts an advanced image signal processor (ISP) with enhanced HDR capabilities, distinguishing it from other smartphones in the market.

With mass production of the phone scheduled to commence in early 2027, OpenAI is poised to make a substantial impact in the hardware landscape.
