ChatGPT, the AI chatbot that took the world by storm, is now facing a significant slowdown in its growth rate as users increasingly turn to alternative chatbots or choose to uninstall the app.
Recent data from market intelligence firm Sensor Tower reveals a notable surge in uninstalls, with a 132% increase year over year in April, and a staggering 413% increase in the previous month.
Although ChatGPT continues to expand its user base, the growth rate has slowed dramatically, plummeting from a remarkable 168% increase in monthly active users in January to a more modest 78% in April.
This downturn could have significant implications for OpenAI’s initial public offering (IPO), as the company’s valuation is heavily tied to ChatGPT’s success.
