OpenAI has launched a new ChatGPT Pro subscription tier, available for $100 per month. This premium offering provides 5x more usage of its Codex coding tool compared to the $20 per month Plus subscription.

According to OpenAI, the new Pro tier is designed for longer, high-effort Codex sessions, positioning it as a competitive option against Anthropic’s Claude Code tool.

The $100 per month Pro subscription will directly compete with Anthropic’s ‘Max’ tier for Claude, which is priced similarly. This new tier also fills the gap between the $20 per month Plus subscription and the $200 version of the Pro tier.
